A large Aircraft Manufacturing Company is seeking a Quality Inspector.
Pay: $21 - $25/hr DOE
PURPOSE OF THE JOBThe Quality Inspector I works under the guidance and supervision of the Quality Inspector III and relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform inspections, checks, tests, and sampling procedures of incoming raw material, components, subassemblies and finished products. The Quality Inspector I must ensure high and consistent quality and the materials meet all specifications of the design data.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIESPerform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming, in-process and finished components, subassemblies and products according to well defined criteria using standard physical, mechanical and/ or electrical measurements.Support Quality Inspectors II and III as directed.Use measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauge, multi meter, radius gauge, etc.) to inspect parts and assemblies for compliance to the design data.Interpret structural and electrical drawings, drawing notes, Bill of Materials, etc. to ensure parts and assemblies are in compliance with the design data.Use design data to ensure parts and assemblies have been part marked in accordance with internal, customer, FAA and/or statutory/regulatory requirements.Identify and segregate non-conforming product and report finding to Quality Inspector II and Quality Inspector III.Communicate with Quality Inspector III regarding any concerning quality issues when required.Accurately document and maintain the results of the inspections and quality records, testing records, calibration records, and corrective action reports.Document the manufacturing inspection process in accordance with internal processes.Report manufacturing and design discrepancies in accordance with internal processes.Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to Quality Inspector III and / or Human Resources.Develop an understanding of company policies and procedures.OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIESCommunicate with immediate Supervisor when questions arise regarding product and design.Must be able to work cooperatively with others.Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.Other duties as assigned by the VP Quality Assurance.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS1. High School diploma or equivalent desired
2. Minimum of 1 year experience performing quality inspections, preferably in an aerospace business.
3. Must have developing knowledge and understanding of reading and interpreting structural and electrical drawings.
4. Must have developing knowledge and understanding of working with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions.
5. Must have good working knowledge of basic measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, multi meter etc.
6. Must be familiar with ISO9001/AS9100 requirements and FAA regulations.
7. Must have basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) preferred.
8. Must be able to work cooperatively with others and have attention to detail.
9. Must have good oral, written and organizational skills.
10. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
11. Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manua
