Purpose

The CSPR Navigator is part of a team providing virtual assistance to Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR)-eligible refugee and migrant populations, including Cuban and Haitian entrants, Ukrainian humanitarian parolees, Afghan SIVs, and other qualified newcomers. The CSPR Navigator will work primarily with refugees arriving through Virtual Reception and Placement (VRP) and Welcome Corps, completing virtual intake and assessments to determine program eligibility, developing a service plan and acting as a resource to Private Sponsor Groups and the VRP team regarding appropriate benefits and resources in Colorado. The Navigator provides trauma-informed and client-centered services to support individual refugee needs, offering a range of educational, financial, medical, social, vocational, and other services and resources as appropriate based on refugee need and eligibility. The CSPR Navigator is a hybrid position, based out of the CWS Fort Collins office with a minimum of 2 days in office, and is part of a team providing services remotely to ORR-eligible clients throughout the State of Colorado. The Navigator will work directly with incoming families, with the support of an interpreter as needed, and will be required to complete a background check, confidentiality agreement, and training modules, treating all individuals with compassion, understanding, and respect. Spanish language ability is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide case management to a caseload of ORR-eligible immigrants and refugees.
  • Ensure the best possible service experience for each client, providing appropriate support, resources, and referrals to connect ORR-eligible newcomers with benefits and resources.
  • Conduct intake interviews and assessments for Cuban-Haitian entrants, Ukrainian parolees, Afghan SIVs, and other refugee and immigrant newcomers to determine RCA eligibility.
  • Provide appropriate and timely referrals to ensure ORR-eligible clients are connected to human assistance programs, educational resources, housing support, and other programs to assist with long-term self-sufficiency.
  • Assist ORR-eligible clients to access health and mental health resources, employment and job support, and immigration legal services by assessing and evaluating each refugees' distinct needs.
  • Support eligible clients with RCA cash assistance distribution and tracking; provide donations and other forms of assistance, as needed.
  • Regularly connect with local services providers, community-based organizations, and other agencies throughout the State of Colorado to ensure that ORR-eligible clients are provided the basic tools necessary to meet their established short-term goals and objectives.
  • Work regularly with co-sponsors, faith-based, and community groups to support the successful resettlement of eligible clients as well as work primarily with VRP and Welcome Corps.
  • Provide training, guidance, and resources to co-sponsors assisting eligible clients statewide, in a virtual capacity.
  • Assess and monitor RCA client progress at regular intervals to ensure progress on goals is made, designated resources are maximized and modify initial resettlement plans and other case file documents as required.
  • Ensure compliance with case file management and reporting requirements, including timely data entry in hard-copy files and databases.
  • Manage and use DocuSign and other online platforms to ensure confidential data transfers.
  • Participate in all program meetings, staff development activities and fully engage as a member of the team.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 3 year's experience working with refugees or immigrants, and previous case management experience preferred.
  • Experience with data tracking and case file documentation preferred.

Other Skills:
  • Strongly preferred that candidates are bilingual in English/Spanish.
  • The successful candidate must be computer literate, with proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word and Excel),
  • DocuSign, and internet applications.
  • Ability to utilize communication platforms and provide virtual case management required.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills are required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment, with compassion and respect for diverse populations required.

Special Requirements

  • The CRSP Navigator is a hybrid position, based out of the CWS Fort Collins office with a minimum of 2 days in office.
