Job Description Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated, dedicated and enthusiastic individual who has a strong computational background with familiarity with immunology. This individual should be interested in human translational science. The research specialist will be working closely with the Principal Investigator and other lab members on publication-generating projects to understand immune dysregulation in autoimmune diseases. The research specialist will work with cutting-edge molecular techniques and immunology approaches to understand human autoimmunity. He/she should have some experience with recombinant protein production and purification. Computational background and have an interest in learning the skills to analyze high-dimensional protein expression, RNA sequencing, and TCR sequencing datasets are preferred. It is expected that the research specialist will develop a high level of independence and be able to take a lead on projects. The research specialist will work in an environment that is team-oriented, where creativity, enthusiasm and dedicated effort are highly rewarded. Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with other people as a team are required. Excellent organizational and record keeping skills are necessary.

Research Specialist A -Assist in the characterization of the immunologic phenotype of autoimmune patients and their vaccine responses. S/he will be involved with sample processing. S/he will produce recombinant proteins to assist with the characterization of these samples at antigen-specific level. S/he will work cooperatively with laboratory members and collaborate with other groups (both laboratory and clinical) on campus. S/he also will be responsible for data organization and annotation for long-term storage. Multi-tasking is important.

Qualifications
Research Specialist A
Bachelor of Science and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Preferred: Basic coding skills in Python and/or R. A basic understanding of immunology.
Research Specialist B
Bachelor of Science and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
