Job Description:
The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our Research Division as a research supervisor. This position will serve as a pivotal mid-level manager, responsible for managing a team of analysts and quality assurance specialists, assisting the research director, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy within the research division.

NDCS employs nearly 2,300 team members operating nine institutions statewide which house approximately 5,200 inmates. The department's focus includes inmate programming and education, physical and behavioral health care, re-entry services, and community programs, and is accredited by the American Correctional Association (ACA). DUTIES:
•Coordinate and prioritize research requests among team members, ensuring all deadlines are
met and customer service is prioritized.
•Monitor the efficiency and deliverables of the Research Division and the Quality Assurance Team
by coordinating tasks and providing direct and indirect supervision, respectively.
•Serve as the point of contact for external partners and researchers, fostering strong
relationships and collaboration outside the department.
•Prepare external-facing dashboards and assist in the implementation of new data systems as
needed.
•Prepare public reports for publication on the agency website and develop fact sheets and one-
pagers for internal and external consumption.
•Assist the research director with high-level executive requests and all mandated reporting.
•Coordinate team and individual trainings (including technical trainings, software trainings,
strengths-based trainings, leadership trainings, etc.) and foster an atmosphere of continual
learning and improvement.

Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Post high school coursework/training in research design, sampling techniques and statistics or program evaluation PLUS experience performing or providing technical support for others performing research or statistical analysis.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in criminology, sociology, data science, or another related field. Related experience which provides a clear understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methodology; and effectively plan, execute, and oversee research projects from inception to completion. Proven experience in research coordination, data management, and operational logistics. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (including Access), STATA, MAXQDA, Oracle Data Visualization Software.

Other: Transcripts required prior to appointment. Once employed, all incumbents must successfully complete the fully paid Nebraska Department of Correctional Services pre-service training program.
