PURPOSE:
The RFID Program Manager will provide leadership and guidance on key strategic projects and initiatives within the Materials organization. This role will support projects that improve overall material flow, reduce dependency on labor, and optimize inventory investment across the company's North American Manufacturing Platform. The position will work across the user community to define, qualify, and prioritize projects utilizing RFID technology. The RFID Program Manager will lead and achieve operational excellence through the advancement of customer experience, leveraging an approach that considers all interdependent, interrelated processes that occur within our business systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Provide leadership and coaching to a team of analytical and technical resources
* Research, evaluate, and define deployment strategies for both the advancement of existing technologies as well as the targeting of new technologies to advance the organization
* Work with user groups to develop financial justification / AFE's for new requirements. Ensure compliance with all FP-P requirements. Take a leadership role for these needs on corporate driven RFID initiatives.
* Maintain a prioritized, structured project portfolio associated with technology, innovation, and disruptive thinking. Inclusive but not limited to applications such as RFID technology
* Constantly evaluate current systems and processes leading to the identification and implementation of design alternatives facilitating an advocacy for a continuous improvement culture
* Support operational excellence through employing a toolkit that incorporates the use of six sigma and lean methodologies
* Manage supplier relationships related to RFID installation, inclusive of materials, software and hardware
* Actively support cross-functional clients by synthesizing key business needs into a prioritized, structured queue of projects and activities. Continuously engage with all constituents to support timely implementations
* Identify and implement metrics to monitor the performance and timeliness of technological and system/ process changes
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role is responsible for the direct supervision of the RFID Specialists.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required
Education, Experience and Skills
* Undergraduate degree in Project Management, Supply Chain, Operations or related field; MBA is a plus
* Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in the areas of Project Management, Operations, Supply Chain and/or Engineering with a record of consistent success within a dynamic process oriented business
* Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated success maintaining a prioritized, structured project portfolio associated with technology, innovation, and disruptive thinking. RFID technology application a plus
* System/ process improvement experience through the use of Six Sigma and lean manufacturing tools
* Ability to be flexible and creative in the face of unforeseen project and system/ process challenges
* Change management champion; possesses a big picture vision with a keen focus on details
* Commitment to being a servant leader, coach and mentor
* Dedicated to improving team performance through aligning to a common goal, motivating for success, and removing barriers
* Undeniable passion for business and self-improvement; evident in communication and approach
Language Skills:
Ability to read, and interpret common business documents including technical reports, charts, graphs and diagrams. Ability to listen and communicate effectively with customers/clients in an effort to respond to common inquires or complaints from customers/clients, members of the business community and public.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret graphs and diagrams.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds over head.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Significant travel, greater than 50% both in and out of town, may be required (based on business need). Travel is typically by company car and or commercial air carrier. Occasional evening and weekend work is required.
