Position Purpose:

RN - Interventional Spine & Pain Management: The licensed nurse is responsible and accountable to work toward effectively managing the patient's pain through assessment, intervention and patient advocacy. Pain management nurses need strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with physicians and other staff members to provide the best care for patients. They also need interpersonal skills to be able to successfully interact with and actively listen to patients and their families.

What you will do:

Full Time: Monday -Friday (8:00am-4:30pm)

* Takes accurate patient medical history and vitals as requested.

* Arranges operative schedule, surgical assistants and special anesthesia needs as per physicians' orders.

* Provides preoperative teaching to patients.

* Assists physician with procedures and treatments (aspirations, injections, wound treatments, dressing changes, etc.) reassuring patient during procedure.

* Evaluates traction or brace containment devices as necessary. Removes staples and sutures on all postoperative patients.

* Obtains required consents from patient.

* Documents accurately and timely in patients record, all treatment/procedures done and initials documentation.

* Prepares preoperative charts and obtains specific medical orders from internist when necessary.

* Checks for completion of preoperative orders, labs and medical evaluations. Informs physician of any patient problem/contradictions using appropriate judgment as to the urgency of the situation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Licensure/Certification:

  • FL RN license
  • BLS from AHA
