The Jewish Board's Community Behavioral Health treatment programs provide compassionate, high quality, evidence-based services to individuals and families in the communities we serve. PURPOSE:

The Senior Director of Adult ACT provides leadership in the planning, implementation and outcomes monitoring for all Jewish Board Adult ACT programs.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Executive Program Director (EPD) the Senior Director of Adult ACT has overall administrative, operational and clinical responsibility for the Adult ACT Teams. They are responsible for developing standardized operations across all teams, ensuring adherence to OMH regulations, maximizing productivity and revenue and works with program staff to promote positive client outcomes. The Senior Director directly supervises the two Adult ACT Directors and the Team Directors, in their absence.

In addition to working closely with the New York State Office of Mental Health New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, the Senior Director works collaboratively with all stakeholders including leadership in Administration, Quality, Psychiatry, Information Systems, Nursing, Compliance, Fiscal and other Program Divisions.

KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Provide direct clinical, operational, and fiscal oversight for all Adult ACT teams.
  • Directly supervises the borough-based ACT Program Directors and supervises the Team Directors in their absence.
  • Develops and implements processes, policies, workflows and decision trees that standardizes clinical and operational functioning of the Adult ACT teams.
  • Provides leadership and vision to assist programs in achieving goals, continually improving performance and meeting challenges proactively and effectively.
  • Uses data to inform decision making to ensure full access to and provision of the continuum on ACT services.
  • Maintains ongoing regulatory compliance and ensures continuous audit readiness.
  • Ensures and participates in escalation pathways and critical incident and risk management activities.
  • Collaborates with the Human Resources Department to maintain ACT staffing levels.
  • Represents The Jewish Board at all Adult ACT NYSOMH meetings and collaborative opportunities and maintains a positive relationship with oversight bodies.
  • Works collaboratively with leadership in Nursing and Psychiatry to enhance clinical operations.
  • Along with clinical leaders in Nursing and Psychiatry, works with Information Systems to design electronic documentation to comply with all regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures appropriate training and supervision is provided to all staff; develops and provides training as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with internal and external policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Participates in program expansion and development opportunities, as they arise.
  • Participates in agency and external committees and initiatives.
  • Participates in external committees and coalitions.
  • Available and on-call to assist in managing and responding to urgent situations.

CORE COMPETENCIES for the position include:
  • Working knowledge of NYSOMH ACT regulations and standards for compliance.
  • Skilled in leading diverse, community-based teams.
  • Ability to use data to make informed decisions regarding both operational and outcomes-based indicators.
  • Effective in person and virtual communication skills.
  • Expertise in and vision for working with high acuity clients within community settings.

EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIRED:
  • Master's degree and licensure in a relevant clinical field required, including but not limited to an LCSW, LMHC, LMSW, RN, NPP, or MD.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/LANGUAGE PREFERENCE:
  • Minimum of 3 years in a director position at an ACT team or with a similar team such as CTI.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully managing ACT teams.
  • Significant experience in change management with proven business and/or clinical results.
  • Experience managing, directing, and motivating a multi-disciplinary and diverse treatment team.
  • Able to analyze complex situations, develop conclusions and execute strategic interventions at the highest possible level.
  • Strong communication skills
  • The ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management.
  • Proven planning, data and analytical skills.

COMPUTER SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Microsoft office competency, including use of spreadsheets.
  • Prior experience utilizing an Electronic Health Record.

VISUAL AND MANUAL DEXIERITY:
  • The candidate should be able to read documents for analytical purposes such as computer information, software, computer graphic design programs, etc.
  • Limited applications of manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL EFFORT
  • The work environment involves limited physical risk or hazardous conditions.
  • To perform the essential functions of this job, the candidate is routinely required to sit ( 80% of the time) and stand or be in the community ( 20% of the time)
  • This is a hybrid position; must be able to travel to ACT programs throughout In Brooklyn and Manhattan, as well as community settings.
