I am partnered with a national General Contractor | Construction Manager specializing within retail and hospitality construction projects across the country, from small, to large-scale fit-outs & renovations ranging anywhere from $500k-$25M. They provide a mix of services from Design+Build, to general construction, construction management, owners representation, and pre/ development consulting services to a range of clientele.

They are looking for a Senior Estimator to join the team specifically within their Hospitality division out of their NJ office.

Your new role

In this role as a Senior Estimator within their hospitality division, you will join a team of 5 where you can expect to get involved in the following duties and responsibilities day-to-day:

• Breakdown a full set of architectural plans /schematics or construction blueprints by trade.
• Perform detailed quantity take-offs and organize the quantities with unit pricing in production of a complete cost estimate.
• Communicate with design teams, vendors and subcontractors.
• Manage change-orders.
• Experience with conceptual, lump-sum, GMP and cost+ contracts.
• Manage all RFI's and RFP's.
• Experience in developing and implementing value engineering solutions to drive down project costs for the owner while maintaining a high level of construction quality.
• The ability to negotiate throughout the bidding process.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects and aggressive deadlines.
• Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• A subcontractor network specific to New Jersey.
• A team player with a positive attitude who can also work independently, is self-motivated and success-driven, yet able and willing to take direction.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have 5-10 years' experience competitively bidding project work with either a general contractor or developer and have an understanding across all construction trades including MEPS. You will demonstrate an understanding and knowledge about estimating processes and delivery methods, with prior experience of bidding a range of contract types mainly lump-sum work.
