Introduction to role:
As a Senior Global Medical Affairs Leader, you will design and lead the implementation of RSV/hMPV Medical product strategies globally and regionally. You will support the Global Medical Head in building and developing the strategic direction, business/resource planning, and team leadership on a global level for the product. You will collaborate with regions and global commercial organization to implement the medical vaccine launch strategy and ensure flawless execution. You will be responsible for engaging and encouraging relationships with leading global KEEs to gain: contribution/ participation in advisory boards, greater understanding of the therapeutic area and insights into unmet patient needs.
Accountabilities:
- Understand the critical data elements related to assessing the public health value of respiratory viral vaccines, vaccine impact, and ability to interpret data for both AZ RSV/hMPV and competitor vaccines in support of ACIP/NITAG recommendations and launch readiness
- Strong demonstration of strategic and medical leadership prowess at cross-functional team /therapeutic area and/or senior leader meetings
- Highly innovative with the ability to drive a complex and changing environment and effectively manage and resolve issues is required
- Strong working relationships with Global and US leaders in vaccinology / respiratory medicine/ infectious diseases including key opinion leaders, professional societies, pharmaceutical companies
- Strong analytical mind-set and ability to quickly assess large amounts of information
- Global mindset and ability to partner cross culturally/regionally
Essential Skills/Experience
- Doctorate level (MD, PhD or Pharm D or equivalent)
- Demonstrated track record of success within Global and US Medical Affairs or similar function and working cross-functionally across a large product team is required
- Experience with US vaccine launch is highly preferred.
- Strong expertise in vaccinology / immunology /respiratory infectious diseases
