We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Analyst for our Global Insurance Risk Management team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in insurance risk management, strong analytical abilities, and the capability to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies on a global scale. Working in a small team environment, this role is a key member of the Global Insurance Risk Management team, reporting to the Director. The Senior Insurance Risk Management Analyst is responsible for risk management support of HanesBrands' global operations.

Responsibilities

The Senior Insurance Risk Management Analyst supports strategic objectives to ensure effective risk management for the company via insurance, loss control and contractual risk transfer. Responsibilities include supporting all aspects of the insurance programs, incident/claim management within guidelines set by Director; insurance placements, including collection, review, assessment, and validation of the operational exposure information, as well as preparation of underwriting submissions and presentations. This role has high visibility to business partners and will be expected to exhibit technical/professional acumen, cultural adeptness, and a proactive customer-centric focused approach in supporting the company's risk management philosophy.

The Senior Analyst supports junior team member(s) as needed, specifically on certificate, allocation, and invoicing processes.

  • Claim administration:
    • Responsible for the administration of a small to medium portfolio of claims, including workers' compensation, liability/auto, marine cargo/stock throughput, and property losses. Serves as primary point of contact for internal clients to ensure understanding of the claims process and proper documentation of claims for submission to the insurer. Gathers and prepares materials and documents used for litigated claims and participates in the litigation process within defined authority. Evaluate and provide feedback to insurer and third-party administrator handling of claims. Supports workers' compensation absence management in tandem with HR and Safety. Settles claims within pre-established authority. Completes insurance carrier audits of workers' compensation program.
  • Conducts annual business interruption study in partnership with broker.
  • Leads collection efforts of insurance renewals with support from junior members of team/broker partners as needed.
  • Supports contractual risk transfer by reviewing insurance language and providing recommendations for business agreements; escalates to Director as needed.
  • Partners with internal stakeholders on explanations of insurance program changes, retentions, and exposures.
  • Supports Director/business partners with property and casualty loss control initiatives as needed.
  • Responsible for risk management departmental reporting/analytics in conjunction with junior member(s) of the team.
  • Produces ad-hoc reports and analysis at the request of Director.
  • Analyzes loss data to provide loss forecasting and potential loss reduction opportunities.
  • Develops and runs reports for distribution to business units on losses, trends, and impact.
  • Acts as a key liaison between the business units and internal departments and the risk management group by promoting a positive environment of collaboration and excellent customer service.
  • Provides support and demonstrates risk awareness within the organization, notifying Director of trends and concerns.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned, including backup of others in the department as necessary.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a strong preference for Risk Management, Finance, Business or another applicable field. A risk management generalist with broad subject knowledge is the ideal candidate. 4+ years of equivalent work experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree.
  • Requires: 5+ years of experience with proven insurance or risk management and/or claims industry experience. Multinational corporate experience a plus.
  • Masters degree preferred with 3+ years of experience

Job Specific Competencies
  • Experience with supporting insurance placements and loss control programs.
  • Experience with incident reporting and claims management.
  • Experience with insurance contract review.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Significant experience with Microsoft Office products (i.e., Excel and PowerPoint). Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. Proven ability to develop reports in Excel.
  • Ability to work in risk management systems and claim management systems.
  • Adaptable to a rapidly changing and dynamic environment; ability to recommend solutions when faced with ambiguity.
  • Scrappy self-starter with a can-do acumen and ability to work independently.
  • Motivated with a willingness to drive change and make improvements.
  • Effective communicator at multiple levels internally and with external partners; ability to develop and foster strategic relationships.
