About the Role

Uber Freight Engineering works strategically with clients to gain an understanding of their specific supply chain challenges and to jointly explore supply chain improvement opportunities. In addition, the group provides tactical decision-making services that bridge the gap between strategic planning and operational execution. Our clients have taken advantage of our multi-level approach and have realized benefits such as network optimization, improved utilization of private fleet operations, lowest cost mode conversion, assignment of carriers to dedicated lanes and reduction of detention and accessorial charges. This position will work Onsite at the Customer in Battle Creek, Michigan.

What the Candidate Will Do

Supply Chain Solutions

  • Quantitative and Qualitative Analysis of customers supply chain opportunities and challenges
  • Use advanced modeling to evaluate and optimize the customer's transportation and distribution network
  • Lane Benchmarking (Utilize Uber Freight market knowledge and leverage existing Uber Freight data, including procurement and that of external data sources.)
  • Help design an optimized Transportation Strategy for our customers to support their goals
  • Ad Hoc reporting as directed by customer
  • Support customer driven initiatives
Basic Qualifications
  • Completed Bachelors degree
  • Minimum 3 years analyst/engineering experience
  • Experience in CPG supply chain - via 3PL or shipper
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of optimization software and SQL
  • Basic understanding of Supply Chain Management Principles & Strategies
  • Transportation industry knowledge
  • Ability to model real world distribution networks and able to analyze them
