The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts DistributionofCat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurementand thedesign andmanufactureof Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

As the Senior Manager, Manufacturing Engineering you will oversee the development, support and continued improvement of manufacturing processes across major functions or multiple facilities.

What You Will Do:
  • Driving transformational projects in key Wear Components facilities to improve efficiency, cost effectiveness, quality and safety.
  • Managing capital spend forecasting and governance.
  • Leveraging expertise and expertise of all parts of the company to identify and execute replication opportunities.
  • Leading a team of experts (automation, autonomous vehicles, vision inspection equipment, manufacturing engineering) to deliver targeted transformational projects.
  • Working directly with Operations Managers to provide manufacturing expertise in the planning, documentation, implementation, support and maintenance of manufacturing processes, procedures, machinery and tooling.
  • Driving process changes leveraging research and process performance data to identity and implement changes that improve yield, runtime, quality, safety and cost-effectiveness.

  • Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.
    • Defines and executes a strategic lean implementation plan.
    • Mentors' others on the organizational and cultural transformation needed for effective lean implementation.
    • Creates training programs for the approaches to developing and executing a lean supplier strategy.
    • Leads discussions on the history and evolution of lean manufacturing; cites successes and failures.
    • Establishes and monitors benchmarks for measuring effectiveness of lean.
    • Oversees the implementation of mechanisms for sustaining a culture for lean.
What You Have (Preferred Qualifications):
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Lean and/or 6 Sigma Black Belt Certification/Experience.
  • Experience leading global teams to drive substantial process and cultural changes.
  • Previous metallurgical or foundry related experience.
  • Experience in capital project management and execution.
