Your Role:

As a Senior Scale-Up Manager, you will play a pivotal role within the Process Development group, collaborating closely with R&D, Engineering, Operations, and Commercial teams. Your primary responsibility will be to lead scale-up activities for new products, driving them towards successful commercialization and profitability.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leadership and Safety: Demonstrate strong leadership with a commitment to safety, health, and environmental standards
  • Collaboration: Work with chemists and engineers to screen synthesis routes and evaluate various unit operations for scale-up
  • Project Management: Prepare and manage project proposals, including detailed scope descriptions, PFDs, P&IDs, cost estimates, concept drawings, and timelines
  • Vendor and Contractor Coordination: Collaborate with vendors and contractors on design and fabrication during project execution
  • Reporting and Presentation: Proactively document results and deliver oral presentations on project progress
  • Intellectual Asset Management: Focus on managing intellectual assets related to the projects
  • Continuous Improvement: Track project spending and identify opportunities for continuous improvement

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of experience in a scale-up function

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters or PhD in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry
  • Proven experience in scale-up activities within a process development environment
  • Strong leadership skills with a dedication to safety and environmental standards
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Experience in managing intellectual assets and project budgets
  • Experience in modelling and digital twins
