Senior Software Test Engineer at TSI
You will serve as a software test engineer within the embedded software group, which creates cutting-edge sensing devices with modern, feature-rich user interfaces. You will work alongside a small group of senior developers and quality assurance engineers to achieve product goals and create fantastic user experiences. What Will You Do?
In order to grow and build a successful career with TSI, you will be responsible for:
- Testing software on embedded instruments, including user-interfaces and back-end systems in C# / C++ / C on embedded Linux and FreeRTOS
- Testing software on measurement instruments - examples include instruments used for air flow, aerosol and dust monitoring, indoor/outdoor air monitoring, fluid dynamics, particle counters, biomedical testing, contamination control, and biohazard detection
- Developing and maintaining test scenarios and regression test suites
- Collaborating with Agile teams to track development and testing, including ability to develop acceptance criteria for stories and estimate work in story points
- Collaborating with test and software engineers to understand complex implementations and determine best methodology for testing
- Providing traceability from requirements to test plans to results for verification and validation testing
- Ensuring products meet or exceed predefined quality standards
- Effectively communicating status of testing efforts and metrics throughout product lifecycle
- Performing exploratory testing and scenario-based testing
- Tracking, categorizing, and documenting test findings and metrics
- Coordinating Release Regression test efforts and creating final verification reports
- Participating in all AGILE ceremonies, including grooming sessions, sprint retrospectives, etc.
- Maintaining clear lines of communications across the team and being open to feedback
- Being a strong advocate for a quality software product
What Do You Need?Required
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of experience working in a software test capacity testing on device embedded software
- Experience designing and implementing overall test strategy and plan
- Experience with manual, functional, end to end testing, regression testing
- Excellent communication
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Collaborative, flexible mindset
Desired
- 10+ years of experience working in a software test capacity testing on device embedded software
- Experience testing on embedded devices
- Working knowledge of GIT, JIRA, TestRail and/or Confluence
- Agile Scrum methodology
