Job Description:
Our client is hiring a highly skilled and experienced Senior System Administrator to join their dynamic team. This pivotal role requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and creating detailed engineering solutions to implement infrastructure and applications with high availability, reliability, and security. This position offers an opportunity to evaluate current systems, secure best practices, and maintain a high-level security baseline across various systems. The role is full-time and based in a fast-paced, innovative environment that values continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Design and create detailed engineering solutions to implement infrastructure and applications with high availability, reliability, and security.
- Evaluate current systems to secure best practices and maintain a high-level security baseline for multiple types of systems.
- Install, configure, test, and maintain various operating systems, application tools, and system management tools.
- Ensure build compliance and handle complexity, troubleshooting various technical scenarios on different software and hardware platforms.
- Experience with Linux, Solaris, and Windows build, including VMware ESXi and vCloud Suite Enterprise.
- Hands-on experience in installing, configuring, monitoring, upgrading, patching, security remediation, and troubleshooting on RedHat Linux (7, 8), Solaris 11, Windows, and VMware.
- Work with VLAN, vDisk, vSwitch, VM template, Storage Multipathing, RAID config, RDM, LVM, ZFS, and hardware configuration for various servers and appliances.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and ensure adherence to BMC Remedy Change Management system requirements.
Qualifications: - B.S. degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related degree or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in a senior system administrator role, with a strong background in engineering design and problem-solving.
- Expertise in Linux, Solaris, and Windows environments, including VMware ESXi and vCloud Suite Enterprise.
- Hands-on experience with network configurations, including VLAN, vDisk, vSwitch, and VM templates.
- Experience in hardware configuration for HPE ProLiant servers, Blade Systems, Oracle Sparc servers, and appliances.
- Familiarity with BMC Remedy Change Management system.
- Knowledge of SAN storage, HA clustering technology, private/public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure), networking, and security vulnerability assessment.
- Strong analytical, engineering design, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in technical document writing.
