Job Summary

The Software Developer III is responsible for input on the software projects, including participation in the definition and design of software, both new and existing, to build a secure and scalable product suite. The developer will implement new core technologies and relevant application programming for software projects into existing and new product offerings.

Job Responsibilities

  • Builds and implements technical designs of the software systems with support from software engineering and the development team members as part of the technical architecture stack.
  • Interacts with developers, project managers, and product management within an Agile development life cycle.
  • Implements and performs code review processes.
  • Identifies risk and risk mitigation strategies associated with the architecture, security policies, and procedures.
  • Participates in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (Agile & Waterfall), including technical requirements analysis, technical design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Maintains and migrates the legacy technologies to industry standard open source technologies.
  • Evaluates core technologies to be employed for a project (the technology stack) and craft the interfaces and dependencies of the most significant subsystems.
  • Coordinates the technical design of the system with overall responsibility for facilitating the major technical decisions expressed as software architecture.
  • Understands knowledge of the following coding languages, standards, and services: T-SQL, JavaScript, jQuery, React.js, CSS3, HTML5, TypeScript, Groovy, Hibernate, SFTP, XML, Spring Boot, and Unit Testing tools. (Desired knowledge of languages and services: Jenkins, Artifactory, Kibana/Elastisearch, Azure).

Key Skills

  • Strong coding and software design skills
  • Proven DevOps automation and orchestration experience using tools such as Azure, Git, BitBucket, Jira
  • Solid understanding of Azure hosting solution and keeping current on the new offerings of Azure

Qualifications

Education & Years of Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree plus 5-7 years of work experience OR High School Diploma/GED plus 9-11 years of work experience

Additional Experience

  • Contributed to at least two completed, commercial software projects that included post-release support and maintenance
  • Experience and demonstrated ability in full-stack development, including User Interface (UI), REST API design, business logic, and data access
  • JavaScript experience, including experience working with SPA and MVC frameworks such as React.js
  • Progressive work experience in open-source technology solutions

Work Environment / Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed in an office/home office environment.
  • Team Members must have the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.

Pay Rate
$101,000 - $120,000 Salary
Final pay rate is dependent on experience, training, education, and location.
