Job Summary:

Coordinates and facilitates events for the Health Care Administration (HCAD) Program. Is responsible for internal group processes to include faculty and staff requests for presentations or support on-campus students in partnership with other key members of the HCAD Program. Provides career development guidance to assist current students and alumni in developing competencies required to pursue academic and career opportunities as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage event logistics, scheduling and coordinating events such as faculty and staff presentation scheduling, workshop coordination and program management of new events for the HCAD team, oversee the creation of a calendar of events.
  • Responsible for planning and coordinating all aspects of program's special events.
    • Duties may include venue selection, catering, décor, entertainment, managing event budgets and handling all vendor and sponsor relationships, creating event timelines and overseeing event setup and breakdown.
  • Serve as a liaison with internal and external constituents.
  • Coordinates and works with alumni, students, faculty, staff, and administrators across campus to schedule events, register students for events, and find speakers and locations.
  • Assist students with career-related events and programs.
  • Responsible for process improvements to ensure seamless experiences ongoing.
  • Responsible for managing external employer and professional development programs such as the North Texas Chapter of ACHE and HFMA.
  • Collect information/data from students and student surveys, outcomes, satisfaction levels, etc. Create and launch surveys/assessments.
  • Partner with the program leadership to provide metric information as required for metrics and goal management.
  • Help to implement incoming and outgoing communication strategies and projects.
  • Draft and edit communications material.
  • Post newsletters and updates through bulletin boards or digital contents.
  • Monitor social media presence.
  • Provide guidance and support to the students about scholarship and fellowship opportunities.
  • Help students to prepare for fellowship/scholarship application process.
  • Maintain a fellowship/scholarship database of student participation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with three (3) years of experience in project management, career advising, human resources, training and development working with students in a university setting, student services, internship coordination, or seven (7) years of an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Business bachelor's degree from an AACSB/EQUIS/AMBA accredited institution.
  • Five (5) years of direct experience in a business, military, educational institution, or non-profit organization.
  • Five (5) or more years of recruiting and/or sales experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Effective organizational skills, including the ability to plan for future events/projects and to execute on time.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Solid organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple requirements simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail to ensure compliance with university requirements and government regulations.
  • Ability to draft, edit, and prepare correspondence, reports, and other materials.
  • Proficient in using technology tools such as online surveys and assessments to collect data.
  • Professional leadership skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
