Senior Mechanical Engineer

Middletown, RI

Contract Position

$60.93-$65.93/Hour

Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and test a torpedo tube deployment system capable of launching payloads from a submarine platform.
• Develop electro-mechanical systems designed to withstand harsh environmental conditions, including shock, vibration, and extreme temperatures.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (Science, Engineering, or Mathematics).
• Clearance: Ability to obtain Secret Clearance.
• Experience:
  • 8+ years of job-related experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 6+ years with a Master's degree.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools for creating 3D models and drawings compliant with ASME Y14.5 and ASME Y14.100 standards.
  • Experience performing structural and thermal analyses to meet submarine environmental requirements.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods and familiarity with technical, government, and industry standards.
• Skills:
  • Advanced expertise in CAD modeling and mechanical design.
  • Ability to lead complex projects with innovative solutions.
  • Strong understanding of electro-mechanical system design for challenging environments.
