We are expanding our Product Leadership team and are actively searching for a Senior Director, Product - Bags, to lead our Bags category. This leadership opportunity will manage a team of product managers, designers, and product developers to drive the vision, strategy, and innovation within this high-growth category.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Product Management:
    • Develop and drive inspirational vision around a multi-year innovation roadmap, that supports YETI's overall growth and business objectives and is informed by market and consumer trends.
    • Develop product line architecture and overall product line themes and hierarchy. Product lines should be complementary and unique; and when taken as a whole, the product lines will be cohesive and logical.
    • Stay informed about customer needs, market trends and industry changes; be the foremost expert in this space for YETI.
  • Design:
    • Lead the design teams to create innovative backpack designs that balance functionality, aesthetics, and durability.
    • Collaborate with designers to create detailed product specifications and prototypes
  • Product Development:
    • Oversee product development projects, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Transformative Leadership:
    • Inspire, mentor, and cultivate all teams reporting to this role to collaborate on new product development effectively.
    • Balance both creative and commercial perspectives while working through design and product development processes to deliver compelling, cohesive, and profitable brand and product experiences.
    • Act as the ultimate customer advocate, sharing the Voice of the Customer through deep understanding of consumer needs, buying preferences, and macro trends.
    • Continually monitor and report on the market landscape using competitive analysis and consumer insights to inform product decisions.
    • Effectively communicate to and align YETI's Executive Leadership Team to category vision, roadmap, and strategy.
    • Drive results across the organization by collaborating cross-functionally with key stakeholders such as: Supply Chain and Operations for sourcing, quality and launch preparedness, Retail and eCommerce Sales teams to align on commercial and distribution strategies, Quality and Customer Experience Teams to better understand customer sentiment and any potential product issues

Qualifications and Attributes:
  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 15 years of product development experience within the consumer goods industry.
  • At least 8 years of experience leading product development teams. Experience in building and managing high-performing teams, including setting goals, providing feedback, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Soft goods development experience at premium brands is strongly preferred.
  • Strong global product and merchandizing strategy experience.
  • Innovative thinker who synthesizes consumer insights, macro trends, and competitive analysis to make informed product decisions.
