Sr. Electrical Engineer

What We're Looking For:
Barge is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer to lead engineering project design teams within our Facilities Engineering Solution Center. Location could be in any of the Barge Design Solutions office locations.

Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Leads complex electrical design projects in a multi-discipline environment.
  • Provides technical design expertise to projects including development of solutions to engineering and technical challenges
  • Designs facility electrical systems for facilities projects including water/waste water treatment, commercial, institutional, federal, DOD, utility, and industrial facilities
  • Designs site utility and lighting systems
  • Prepares calculations and analyses of electrical systems such as lighting and power systems
  • Reviews work developed by others for quality purposes
  • Leads complex technical portions of meetings with clients
  • Interacts with other project design team members and clients to obtain and document Basis of Design Criteria
  • Mentors other early career staff
  • Develops strong relationships with project managers, clients, contractors, and others
  • Additional responsibilities as needed


Education & Experience Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification required
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience
  • An active NCEES Record is a strong plus.
  • Strong industrial design experience -Working knowledge of specification of instruments, controls and SCADA systems is a plus
  • Experience with design of automotive manufacturing, tire manufacturing, and water/waste water treatment
  • Experience using AutoCAD and/or Microstation and/or BIM(3D) software
  • Experience using AGI 32 Lighting Analysis software a plus
  • Experience with SKM Power Tools software a plus
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
