Staff Accountant
Summary:
The primary purpose of the Staff Accountant is to perform day-to-day accounting functions, such as maintaining and posting financial transactions, reviewing, and processing various accounting documents, and other related general ledger and general accounting needs as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Enter, process approvals, scan and file all invoices
- process checks for signature and mailing
- Request credits and revisions to unapproved invoices
- Track and maintain ledgers
- Prepare Balance Sheets
- Assist with P&L Statements
- Process credit card receipts.
- Complete monthly reconciliation
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries
- Assist with preparation of miscellaneous month-end accounting duties
- Maintain well organized accounting records
- Suggest and help implement improvements to current accounting processes and/or controls, including automation and streamlining of existing accounting functions
- Assistance with Accounts Payable and Accounts receivable when needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or experience in Accounting, Finance
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and ERP Systems (SAP, Oracle, Great Plains, etc.)
- Understanding of basic accounting principles/GAAP
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain cooperative working relationships
- Team player willing to help with special projects
