Purpose & Scope:
The position will report to Quality Management supporting supplier quality initiatives through the entire product life cycle; ensuring supplied product complies with specifications. Collaborates in the evaluation, selection, monitoring, audits, compliance to Kahr Bearing flow downs and SCAR / RCCA.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Collaborates in the evaluation and selection of new Suppliers.
• Reviews and approves suppliers through both mail-in audits and on-site audits
• Assists supplier development team as needed to drive improvement and work transfers.
• Maintains supplier evaluation records and approved supplier list.
• Defines system to monitor and track supplier performance
• Maintains Supplier Quality Clauses and Supplier Quality Assurance Manual.
• Audits supplier's QMS and compliance to Kahr Bearing flow downs.
• Verify supplier containment is taken immediately upon discovery of a quality concern
• Leads Supplier corrective action meeting, coordinating SCAR / RCCA responses, accepts or rejects supplier corrective actions.
• Performs preliminary review of supplier request for deviated material.
• Liaison between Sargent functional teams and supplier for rejection disputes.
• Monitors supplier performance and coordinates quality improvement plans with supply-chain representative as needed.
• Maintains supplier risk heat maps.
• Support Advanced Quality Planning and PPAP review for new product introduction .
• Represents supplier quality at Quality Management Board meetings, providing status on supplier quality performance indicators and status of projects, processes improvements.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
•Bachelor's degree science degree in technical field.
• Minimum 10 years of quality system auditing experience with 5 years of demonstrated experience performing external quality systems audits.
• Must be ASQ CQA or must be able to achieve certification within 1 year of employment
• Ability to interpret Drawings, Specifications, Contracts to enable review of processes
• Must have demonstrated ability to use causal analysis tools to analyze and resolve issues varying from basic to complex.
• Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Ability to communicate and work well with other individuals, departments and companies
• Must have the ability to travel
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
PREFERRED JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering disciplines
• Experience with performing First Article Inspections reviews to AS9102 requirements.
Experience with performing AS9145 PDP & PPAP.
• GD&T Experience
• Six-Sigma Green Belt
• Attended and Passed ISO9001 or AS9100 Lead Auditor training
• Experience in providing ISO 9001 or AS9100 auditor training
Ability to:
• Sit at a desk and work with a computer is necessary, sometimes for extended periods.
• Safely move about in a variety of work environments, office to manufacturing floor and other areas.
• Remain on a manufacturing shop floor, sometimes for extended periods, while meeting specified safety requirements (i.e., vision protection, foot/toe protection, and others as appropriate)
