About the Position

We are seeking a Technical Director of Horizontal Directional Drilling Engineering (HDD) to join our growing Energy team. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in HDD engineering, with a strong foundation in design, analysis, and implementation of HDD projects. Experience in the Power, Fueling, and Oil and Gas industries is preferred, but not required. The successful candidate will play a key role in mentoring a dynamic team of professionals while supporting a wide range of multidisciplinary projects. In addition, this position offers opportunities to interact with clients and contribute to proposal development, helping shape the future of our HDD projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead HDD design efforts, including detailed design calculations and ensuring adherence to project specifications and industry standards.
• Provide technical leadership, ensuring best practices are followed in all HDD engineering activities, from design to installation.
• Review and interpret applicable design codes and installation standards, ensuring compliance on all projects.
• Utilize engineering software to create accurate designs, simulations, and analysis, providing high-quality output for HDD projects.
• Mentor and guide less experienced engineers, fostering a collaborative team environment and ensuring high technical standards.
• Contribute to client interactions, providing technical insights and supporting proposal development to secure new projects.
• Ensure project timelines and budgets are met while maintaining technical excellence and addressing project challenges.
• Stay current with industry advancements, incorporating new technologies and methodologies into the design and execution of HDD projects.

Qualifications:

• BS in Civil or Structural Engineering (or related field).
• 10+ years of experience in HDD engineering, with a strong background in horizontal directional drilling and project execution.
• PE certification preferred or anticipated.
• Proficient in HDD design software and capable of performing detailed design calculations and analysis.
• Strong understanding of relevant design codes, installation practices, and project specifications.
• Ability to thrive in a team environment, with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to multi-task, produce high-quality work, and meet deadlines.
• Strong desire to learn and grow professionally in a fast-paced, evolving industry.

Additional Information

Many factors are considered when determining compensation at Pond, including scope and level of position, geographic location, candidate skill, knowledge and experience. Starting base pay may vary depending on these factors. We anticipate filling this position as a Civil Technical Director with a salary range of $137,500.00 - $225,900.00 .
