Tube Technician III-A

Merritt Island, FL

Contract Position

Responsibilities:

• Manufacture, assemble, and test New Glenn (GS1) First Stage Booster according to written procedures.
• Set up new production work areas, including tooling and equipment, and assist in transitioning from development to production.
• Conduct hardware inspections and second-party verifications against engineering models, drawings, and specifications.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve malfunctions through modification, rework, and repair, while implementing corrective actions.
• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and aerial lifts, and utilize precision tools like torque wrenches and laser trackers.
• Identify and lead continuous improvement projects focused on safety and efficiency.
• Support daily maintenance and 5S practices for a clean and organized work environment.
• Work off-shift, overtime, and weekends when necessary to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 8+ years in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or a relevant field.
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in fluids and tubing installation, instrumentation, electrical harness routing, or general aerospace/launch vehicle assembly.
  • Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, and test procedures.
  • Basic digital literacy (Windows, Microsoft Office).
• Physical Requirements: Ability to climb ladders, work in restricted spaces, perform repetitive tasks, and lift items up to 35 lbs.
• Clearance: Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum.
• Desired Qualifications:
  • Industry certification, trade school training, or a degree in a related field.
  • Experience leading technical teams and handling large aerospace components.
  • Familiarity with assembling tight-tolerance structures and new product introduction.
  • Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment; Lean or Six Sigma certification preferred.
  • Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs.
  • Military experience.
