Position Purpose:

This exciting opportunity is full-time with Converge Technology Solutions and operates during normal business hours. The Product Handler will be part of the Global Integration & Deployment Services (GIDS) team providing high quality solutions to our customers to ensure their investment in technology is consistent with their business objectives. Product Handlers, working with engineers, represent Converge on the front line of customer support and play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of the Converge Configuration centers. They receive and control inventory, must be able to perform on the spot problem solving, prepare orders for shipment and thrive in a team environment.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepares work site by obtaining and delivering equipment, tools, supplies, and materials.
  • Identifies and verifies shipments against purchase orders, receiving new parts into inventory, stages inventory according to company standards, reports inventory variances, and participates in physical inventories.
  • Pulls and stages orders from inventory.
  • Labels customer assets, including the careful application and recording of asset tags in order to create critical asset records for our customers.
  • Responsible for tracking, monitoring, and providing timely updates and complete documentation for open production work orders to insure service level standards are met.
  • Assists with product delivery if/as needed.
    • Follows all "rules of the road" and operates PDS trucks in a safe manner.
    • Responsible for delivery and/or pickup activities of delicate computer equipment.
    • Works closely with Logistics department to coordinate on-time delivery/pickups.
    • Interacts with clients on a regular basis.
    • Enters required information in the regulated DOT driver logbook.
  • Promotes a culture of continuous improvement through problem solving, preventing defects, and work flow innovation recommendations.
  • Participates in regular staff meetings and communicates relevant information.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

Education:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Job Related Experience:
  • 1-2 years of general labor or customer service experience
  • Valid driver's license

  • An aptitude and enthusiasm for technology.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Attention to detail is extremely important.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work overtime when necessary

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crawling, stooping and crouching. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
