Description: Our client is currently seeking a Ultrasound Technologist!

This is an 2 year contract role, working on a rotating basis, onsite in Tucson, AZ

Start time is flexible from 7a-8a, end times from 3:30pm to 7:30pm

On call hours are weekdays from 4:30pm-8pm on weekdays, and 8am-8pm on weekends and holidays (Standby rate for on-call hours when called in)

Pay is based on experience and education

This job will have the following responsibilities:

  • Performs diagnostic ultrasound examination on multiple areas of the body, including, but not limited to the abdomen, neck, chest, extremities, pelvis and retroperitoneal space, for the purpose of acquiring high quality examinations that assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patient medical disorders.
  • Performs Intra-Operative Ultrasound examinations to assist the Interventional Radiologists in tumor ablation procedures in a sterile surgical environment.
  • Sets up equipment, makes multiple simultaneous settings and adjustments in operation of the equipment, and manually maneuvers the transducer to perform the exam; insuring accurate results.
  • Obtain pertinent clinical data from the patient, electronic health record, requisition, and interviewing the patient and/or family.
  • Properly selects patient's information from the HIS/RIS list on the workstation, verifies patient information prior to scanning. Annotations are made, correct orientation of the image, configures the image before transmitting to PACS.
  • Perform computer work and required forms associated with patient exams, credit of patient visits, complications and/or quality improvement activities of the department.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Registered Ultrasound Technologists must have a minimum of two years' current experience in this field and recent Ultrasound Technologist experience in a hospital setting including covering inpatient units, ED and ICU.
  • Maintains current clinical skill and credentialing through in-service programs, continuing education to include evidence of a certificate as a Sonographer from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and a registry number, or certificate from another body which the ARDMS recognizes as its credentialing equivalent to perform as an Ultrasound Technologist and professional publications.
