Meta is looking for a Visual Designer (Illustration) to join the Cross Meta Visual Systems team driving coherence of the Meta brand in product. Visual systems is a pillar within Cross Meta Design Systems focused on mobile and web surfaces, shared product primitives, and libraries that scale the Meta brand across our Family of Apps.In every context, we aim to build a connection between our products and the people who use them. We do this through defining visual systems that enable expression including, illustration, iconography, animation, and design system primitives. We also craft guidance and supporting structures that ensure our brand remains consistent, coherent, and harmonious when used at scale. This person will be responsible for shaping and executing projects and design communications across several product initiatives. Drawing on experience, you should be comfortable collaborating and providing a creative point of view with art directors, illustrators, content strategists, and product designers to grow and evolve work from a design perspective that spans many platforms and teams.The ideal individual for this role is a multi-faceted, curious, and innovative problem-solver that has an eye for great creative work, talent, and the ability to deliver and launch initiatives on time and on strategy. Additionally, this person must be a clear communicator, a team player, and have a proven ability to inspire and motivate others to deliver world-class creative work.The successful candidate should have strong experience in illustration and communication design, familiar with the craft of creating art for app/mobile/www experiences.

Visual Designer - Cross Meta Design Systems Responsibilities:

• Execute illustration and communication design assignments across surfaces (app, mobile, www), creating sketches all the way through final artwork
• Adapt to different illustration approaches and seek out creative opportunities to improve on existing style(s)
• Create sketches, storyboards, prototypes, and/or design specs necessary to guide development of useful and consistent experiences based on stakeholder direction and self-driven research
• Work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment with multi-disciplinary teams
• Produce strong conceptual and expressive communication design that is engaging and reflect a cohesive visual style and tone
• Inspire your teammates, give and receive feedback, and critique respectfully
• Able to meet multiple deadlines, prioritize work, and keep projects moving forward
• Be proactive about engagements with partners, seeking feedback and communicating priorities
• Be process-oriented, developing work as part of a system, and partnering to help keep our production running smoothly
• Be hands on in the work and be able to communicate design direction
• Willingness to gain expertise in multiple modes of expression and learn new tools to increase ability to execute across mediums

Minimum Qualifications:

• A link to an online portfolio showcasing your work (include link on your resume)
• Experience designing visual systems as well as creating graphic design elements from illustrations to iconography
• Experience with visual storytelling including illustration and/or animation
• Knowledge in digital product design
• Experience creating work for digital surfaces (mobile, web)
• Portfolio exhibits conceptual skills, composition and color
• Experience in creating and presenting creative work to cross functional teams
• Knowledge in Figma, Illustrator, and Photoshop
• Experience with time management, task prioritization, identifying problems and work towards solutions
