Description
The Department of Public Health Sciences at the University of Chicago seeks a part-time Lecturer to develop and teach one section of a course on concepts in healthcare administration in the Master of Public Health program (https://publichealth.bsd.uchicago.edu). The position is part-time and not benefits eligible. There is the possibility of reappointment in subsequent years. The terms and conditions of employment for this position are covered by a collective bargaining agreement between the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and the University.
The course will be an elective, primarily for students in the Health Policy and Community Health Promotion Concentrations, but open to other students with the permission of the instructor. This is a new course, and the lecturer will be required to develop all course materials with input from the directors of the MPH program.
Courses are held for nine weeks, with the tenth week for a final project or exam. It is preferable that the course meet in the late afternoon or evening 2 days a week for a total of 3 hours, although the exact day(s)/time(s) will be determined in consultation with the Lecturer.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must have a graduate level degree in a relevant field.
